Set on Denny Mountain at Snoqualmie Pass, just off Interstate 90 about 50 miles east of Seattle, Alpental is one of four base areas that make up the Summit at Snoqualmie, but it stands entirely apart in character. There is beginner terrain too, tucked near the base for those learning the ropes, but Alpental's soul lives up high, in the steep and the deep. Night skiing runs four nights a week, letting locals shred rowdy lines under the lights after work, and when the legs finally give out, the base area is the perfect place to swap stories over a bite and a brew.
