Alpine Meadows Ski Trail Map - Layered Wood Wall Art
by Mountaincut
North Lake Tahoe's relaxed, powder-blessed classic, now on your wall. Mountaincut's Alpine Meadows Ski Trail Map is a layered wooden wall art piece featuring hand-traced ski trails expertly laser cut from premium birch and/or walnut plywood, a handcrafted tribute to the easygoing Tahoe mountain where seven open bowls, legendary snowfall, and stunning lake views have charmed locals for decades.
Tahoe's Laid-Back Bowl Skiing, Captured in Wood
Set on Ward Peak near the northwest shore of Lake Tahoe, just eight miles from Tahoe City and off Highway 89 between Truckee and Tahoe City, Alpine Meadows has been a beloved Tahoe fixture since it opened in 1961. Originally developed by John Reily as an alternative to nearby Squaw Valley, Alpine has always had its own relaxed, unpretentious character. From a base of 6,835 feet to a summit of 8,637 feet, the resort delivers a 1,802-foot vertical drop across 2,400 patrolled acres, with 100 designated runs served by 13 lifts. And it snows here, a lot: Alpine averages nearly 400 to 495 inches of snow each season, among the top snowfall totals in all of North America, and offers one of the longest seasons at Lake Tahoe. Since 2018, Alpine Meadows has been joined with its legendary neighbor to form Palisades Tahoe, and the Base to Base Gondola now connects the two mountains, letting skiers ride both in a single day. This handcrafted map captures every bowl, every ridge, and every run in beautiful layered wood relief.
Every Bowl, Every Ridge, Every Memory
Alpine Meadows offers a well-rounded experience for every level, with terrain that breaks down to roughly 25% beginner, 40% intermediate, and 35% advanced. Beginners have a dedicated learning zone near the base with carpets and beginner-only lifts, letting them progress at their own pace. Intermediates thrive here: the Lakeview and Sherwood areas deliver wide cruisers, glade runs, and breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe, while the Kangaroo and Roundhouse Express pods offer perfect progression terrain. But Alpine's soul lives in its seven open bowls and its steeps. Advanced and expert skiers find blood-pumping terrain on nearly every aspect of the mountain, with the vast Alpine Bowl off the summit and the sun-kissed Sherwood side holding some of the best powder stashes in Tahoe, many reached by a moderate hike that rewards the effort with untracked turns. Sidecountry access opens up even more for those willing to explore. The longest run stretches 3.4 miles, three terrain parks serve freestyle riders, and a children's center with lessons, snow tubing, and a mini-terrain park makes it a genuine family mountain. Two beautiful lodges, one at the base and one at mid-mountain, offer a fireplace, dining, and that easygoing Alpine atmosphere that keeps people coming back.
Exceptional Craftsmanship, Made in the USA
All Mountaincut wooden trail maps are precision laser cut and etched, hand-stained, and finished in the United States using birch and/or walnut plywood. The two-layer construction creates a rich, dimensional look where the mountain's bowls, ridgelines, and trail network stand out in beautiful relief. Hanging hardware comes preinstalled, so your new trail map will be on display in minutes.
Because each piece is crafted from real wood, no two maps are exactly alike, with natural variations in the grain and stain giving every piece its own character, just like a bluebird powder morning above Lake Tahoe.
