Set on U.S. Route 302 in Bartlett, New Hampshire, near North Conway, Attitash was built in 1938 by the Works Progress Administration, originally opening as the "Red Carpet Ski Area." Its name comes from the Abenaki word for blueberry, a nod to the region's native heritage. Located entirely within the White Mountain National Forest, Attitash is home to two connected peaks, Attitash and Bear Peak, the latter added in the mid-1990s with wider trails and open glades. From a base of 600 feet, the mountain delivers 1,750 feet of vertical off Attitash Peak and 1,450 feet off Bear Peak, with summits of 2,350 and 2,050 feet respectively. Across 311 skiable acres, Attitash offers 68 trails and more than 60 acres of dedicated tree skiing, spanning 23 miles of terrain, served by 8 lifts, including three high-speed quads, with 98% snowmaking coverage.
