Boreal Mountain Ski Trail Map - Layered Wood Wall Art
by Mountaincut
The first mountain to open every season, now on your wall. Mountaincut's Boreal Mountain Ski Trail Map is a layered wooden wall art piece featuring hand-traced ski trails expertly laser cut from premium birch and/or walnut plywood, a handcrafted tribute to the Donner Summit favorite where terrain park culture and Tahoe's earliest turns of the season come together.
Donner Summit's Terrain Park Capital, Captured in Wood
Set right off Interstate 80 at 7,200-foot Donner Summit, west of Truckee in the Lake Tahoe region of California, Boreal Mountain Resort has built its reputation on two things: being consistently the first resort in the Tahoe area, and often all of California, to open each winter, and delivering some of the best terrain park culture in the Sierra. From a base of 7,200 feet to a summit of 7,700 feet, Boreal offers a compact 500-foot vertical drop across 380 acres, with 41 trails served by six to eight lifts, including a high-speed quad and the California Cruiser beginner quad. Averaging 400 inches of snow a year, with 75 to 80% snowmaking coverage, this handcrafted map captures every trail on the mountain in beautiful layered wood relief.
Every Trail, Every Park, Every Memory
Boreal's terrain breaks down to 30% beginner, 55% intermediate, and 15% advanced, making it a genuinely great mountain for progressing skiers and riders of every level. The base area is built around learning, with 80-foot and 200-foot moving carpets giving newcomers a low-pressure place to find their footing, while the California Cruiser quad opens up mellow, consistent-pitch runs for those just starting to explore the mountain. Mid-mountain, trails like Cedar Ridge and Castle Peak give intermediates wider lanes and moderate gradients to build confidence, and the longest run stretches a full mile from top to bottom. But Boreal's real identity lives in its terrain parks: A51 Park delivers jump lines, rail gardens, and two halfpipes, Woodward Peace Park offers creative transitions and sculpted features, and six parks total spread freestyle terrain across the entire mountain. Boreal is also home to Woodward Tahoe, a one-of-a-kind indoor action sports facility offering year-round training in skiing, snowboarding, skateboarding, BMX, and more. Night skiing runs daily from 3 to 8 p.m., and Playland Tubing gives non-skiers in the group their own way to enjoy the snow.
Exceptional Craftsmanship, Made in the USA
All Mountaincut wooden trail maps are precision laser cut and etched, hand-stained, and finished in the United States using birch and/or walnut plywood. The two-layer construction creates a rich, dimensional look where the mountain's ridgeline and trail network stand out in beautiful relief. Hanging hardware comes preinstalled, so your new trail map will be on display in minutes.
Because each piece is crafted from real wood, no two maps are exactly alike, with natural variations in the grain and stain giving every piece its own character, just like an early-November powder morning at Donner Summit.
