The Hunter North expansion, which added 30% more terrain when it debuted in 2018 as the largest ski resort expansion on the East Coast in over 15 years, brings four additional trails and three glades to the map. In 1980, Hunter became the first ski resort in the world to offer 100% snowmaking coverage on all trails — a milestone that redefined expectations across the industry. In 1989, it became the first ski area in the United States to install a fully automated snowmaking system. Today, that tradition of innovation continues, with state-of-the-art automated snowmaking covering every one of its 67 trails and making Hunter one of the most reliably open mountains in the Northeast from late November through mid-April.
