Loon Mountain Ski Trail Map - Layered Wood Wall Art
by Mountaincut
New England's most accessible big mountain, now on your wall. Mountaincut's Loon Mountain Ski Trail Map is a layered wooden wall art piece featuring hand-traced ski trails expertly laser cut from premium birch and/or walnut plywood, a handcrafted tribute to the Lincoln, New Hampshire resort founded by a former state governor and shaped by three connected peaks along the Kancamagus Highway.
Three Peaks Off I-93, Captured in Wood
Set on Loon Mountain within the White Mountain National Forest in Lincoln, New Hampshire, just off Interstate 93 and within two hours of Boston, Loon Mountain traces its roots to former New Hampshire governor Sherman Adams, a Lincoln native and Dartmouth graduate. Now owned by Boyne Resorts alongside sister mountains Sunday River and Sugarloaf, Loon is celebrating its 60th season, marked by continued investment including a snowmaking boost on North Peak and a brand-new Little Sass carpet lift for first-timers. From a base of 860 feet to a summit of 3,050 feet, Loon delivers a 2,190-foot vertical drop, the eighth largest in New England, across 403 skiable acres, with 73 trails served by 13 lifts, including the Kancamagus 8, the first eight-passenger gondola-style lift built in the East. This handcrafted map captures all three peaks, North Peak, Loon Peak, and South Peak, in beautiful layered wood relief.
Every Peak, Every Trail, Every Memory
Loon's terrain breaks down to 19% beginner, 53% intermediate, and 28% expert, spread across three genuinely distinct peaks, each with its own base lodge. Loon Peak, served by the summit gondola, anchors the resort with a wide mix of terrain for every level. South Peak, the newest addition, opened in 2008 and offers some of the mountain's best long, wide blue and black cruisers, with sweeping views of Franconia Notch along the way. North Peak, reached from the Octagon Lodge, holds Loon's most challenging terrain, including the steep, groomed pitches of Upper Walking Boss and the Flume trails. The longest run, Bear Claw to Speakeasy, stretches 2.5 miles from summit to base. Six terrain parks, including New Hampshire's only superpipe, keep freestyle riders progressing at every level, and with snowmaking covering nearly the entire mountain, Loon reliably opens first and closes last among New Hampshire's major resorts. Beyond the alpine terrain, the Gondola Skyride carries sightseers to the summit to explore the Glacial Caves and climb the observation tower.
Exceptional Craftsmanship, Made in the USA
All Mountaincut wooden trail maps are precision laser cut and etched, hand-stained, and finished in the United States using birch and/or walnut plywood. The two-layer construction creates a rich, dimensional look where the resort's three peaks and trail network stand out in beautiful relief. Hanging hardware comes preinstalled, so your new trail map will be on display in minutes.
Because each piece is crafted from real wood, no two maps are exactly alike, with natural variations in the grain and stain giving every piece its own character, just like a bluebird morning above Franconia Notch.
