Mount Bohemia Ski Trail Map - Layered Wood Wall Art
by Mountaincut
No beginners allowed, now on your wall. Mountaincut's Mount Bohemia Ski Trail Map is a layered wooden wall art piece featuring hand-traced ski trails expertly laser cut from premium birch and/or walnut plywood, a handcrafted tribute to the wildest, snowiest, most uncompromising ski experience in the Midwest and one of the most legendary expert-only mountains in all of North America.
The Midwest's Most Extreme Mountain, Captured in Wood
Tucked into the far northern reaches of Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula near Lac La Belle, surrounded by Lake Superior on three sides, Mount Bohemia is unlike any other ski area in America. Since opening in 2000, Boho has built a cult following on a simple promise: no grooming, no snowmaking, no beginners, and no apologies. With a 900-foot vertical drop, the highest in the Midwest, over 100 runs spread across more than 600 skiable acres, and an average of 273 inches of dry, light lake-effect powder each season, Mount Bohemia delivers a backcountry experience with a chairlift. Just two fixed-grip chairs and a fleet of shuttle buses serve terrain that consists almost entirely of single, double, and triple black diamond runs. This handcrafted map captures every zone, every glade, and every chute on a mountain that has been voted the number one ski resort in North America.
Every Zone, Every Glade, Every Memory
Mount Bohemia is essentially a cone, with terrain falling away from the summit in every direction, and each zone offering something entirely its own. The Bohemia Mining Company front side delivers cut mogul runs and open glades, while Bear's Den on the backside serves up long, undulating cut trails. The north side, home to Haunted Valley, Outback, Pirates Cove, and the Graveyard, packs shorter, steeper glade runs into tight, technical terrain. Head east to Outer Limits and Middle Earth, where the deepest snow falls and the longest runs at Boho wind through miles of gladed forest, the longest stretching an incredible 3.7 miles. And then there is the Extreme Backcountry, where every run carries the notorious triple black diamond rating and a cliff band bisects the terrain halfway down, with drops reaching as tall as 40 feet. Little Boho, accessed by a short hike from the parking lot, is a whole separate hill with some of the steepest terrain on the property. Because nothing is groomed and no snow is made, the powder stays untouched, and the lake-effect snow here is dry and light in a way that has earned Boho comparisons to Japan.
Exceptional Craftsmanship, Made in the USA
All Mountaincut wooden trail maps are precision laser cut and etched, hand-stained, and finished in the United States using birch and/or walnut plywood. The two-layer construction creates a rich, dimensional look where the mountain's zones, glades, and gnarly terrain stand out in beautiful relief. Hanging hardware comes preinstalled, so your new trail map will be on display in minutes.
Because each piece is crafted from real wood, no two maps are exactly alike, with natural variations in the grain and stain giving every piece its own character, just like a bottomless powder day in the Extreme Backcountry.
The Perfect Gift for Mount Bohemia Devotees
Whether you have dropped a 40-foot cliff in the Extreme Backcountry, gotten happily lost in the glades of Middle Earth, ridden the ABBA bus back to the base with your legs on fire, or made the pilgrimage up the Keweenaw just to see if the hype was real, this map is a lasting reminder of a mountain that refuses to be anything other than exactly what it is. Raw, rugged, and unapologetically expert-only. Mount Bohemia deserves a place on your wall. Mountaincut products are made to order and most items ship within 2 to 3 days.
