Tucked along the banks of the Rio Pueblo in Vadito, New Mexico, about 20 miles southeast of Taos within the Carson National Forest, Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort is the oldest of the ski areas in New Mexico and, fittingly, home to the longest ski season in the state, typically running from November all the way into April. From a base of 8,200 feet to a summit of 9,255 feet, Sipapu delivers a 1,055-foot vertical drop across roughly 200 to 215 acres, with 41-plus named trails served by six lifts, including a quad and two triples.
