Snow Valley Ski Trail Map - Layered Wood Wall Art
by Mountaincut
Southern California's longest-running mountain, now on your wall. Mountaincut's Snow Valley Ski Trail Map is a layered wooden wall art piece featuring hand-traced ski trails expertly laser cut from premium birch and/or walnut plywood, a handcrafted tribute to the Running Springs classic that has welcomed skiers to the San Bernardino Mountains since 1924.
The San Bernardinos' Original Ski Area, Captured in Wood
Set in Running Springs, California, in the San Bernardino National Forest, just eleven miles from Big Bear Lake, Snow Valley holds the distinction of being the longest continually operating ski resort in Southern California. What began in the 1920s as a roadside development called Fish Camp was transformed into a ski area by the Arrowhead Springs Corporation in the 1930s, going on to feature one of the first overhead cable ski lifts in the country. In January 2023, Snow Valley joined Alterra Mountain Company, becoming the third piece of the Big Bear Mountain Resort family alongside neighboring Snow Summit and Bear Mountain. From a base of 6,800 feet to a summit of 7,841 feet, Snow Valley delivers a 1,041-foot vertical drop across 240 acres, with roughly 29 to 32 trails served by lifts including a high-speed six-passenger chair, the Snow Valley Express. This handcrafted map captures every trail across the mountain in beautiful layered wood relief.
Every Trail, Every View, Every Memory
Snow Valley has long been known as one of Southern California's best beginner-friendly mountains, with award-winning learning centers and a recently expanded beginner area that keeps first-timers comfortable while they find their ski legs. But the mountain has more to offer than gentle groomers: the steeps of Slide Peak give stronger skiers and riders a genuine test, and terrain parks like The Edge and East Bowl serve freestyle riders looking to progress. On especially clear days, the mountaintop views stretch all the way to the Pacific Ocean, a rare treat found at few other Southern California ski areas. Snow Valley is also home to one of the region's only lift-served tube parks, giving non-skiers in the family plenty to do, and the Deer Meadow Grille & Bar offers a relaxed place to warm up after a day on the mountain. Since joining the Big Bear Mountain Resort family, Snow Valley has continued to receive investment aimed at enhancing both the on-hill experience and the base area facilities, all while keeping the laid-back, easygoing atmosphere that has defined the mountain for a century.
Exceptional Craftsmanship, Made in the USA
All Mountaincut wooden trail maps are precision laser cut and etched, hand-stained, and finished in the United States using birch and/or walnut plywood. The two-layer construction creates a rich, dimensional look where the mountain's ridgeline and trail network stand out in beautiful relief. Hanging hardware comes preinstalled, so your new trail map will be on display in minutes.
Because each piece is crafted from real wood, no two maps are exactly alike, with natural variations in the grain and stain giving every piece its own character, just like a sunny bluebird morning above the San Bernardinos.

Whether you learned to ski here as a kid, tested yourself on the steeps of Slide Peak, tubed down with the family, took in the Pacific Ocean views from the summit, or have been making the drive up from Los Angeles or the Inland Empire season after season, this map is a lasting reminder of Southern California's original ski mountain.
