Tamarack Resort Ski Trail Map - Layered Wood Wall Art
by Mountaincut
America's only ski and lake resort in one, now on your wall. Mountaincut's Tamarack Ski Trail Map is a layered wooden wall art piece featuring hand-traced ski trails expertly laser cut from premium birch and/or walnut plywood, a handcrafted tribute to the West Central Mountains resort where alpine terrain meets the shores of Lake Cascade in a genuinely unique corner of Idaho.
Idaho's Newest Destination Resort, Captured in Wood
Set in Valley County, Idaho, roughly 90 miles north of Boise on the eastern shores of Lake Cascade, Tamarack Resort made history in 2004 as the first destination ski resort built in the United States in over two decades. From a base of 4,900 feet to a summit of 7,660 to 7,700 feet, Tamarack delivers 2,760 to 2,800 feet of vertical drop, an impressive figure for the region, across roughly 1,100 to 1,610 acres, with 50 to 58 trails served by seven lifts, including three high-speed quads. Averaging around 219 to 300 inches of snow each season, Tamarack pairs genuine mountain terrain with a 22-mile lake at its base, a combination found nowhere else in the country. This handcrafted map captures every bowl, glade, and trail in beautiful layered wood relief.
Every Bowl, Every Glade, Every Memory
Tamarack's terrain breaks down to roughly 17-19% novice, 34-45% intermediate, and the remainder advanced and expert, steep at the summit but smoothing out lower on the mountain. The Discovery beginner area near the base, served by its own carpet and lift, gives newcomers a dedicated place to learn, though savvy visitors know to watch for Hootenanny, a green trail so steep and narrow it surprises even experienced skiers. Once past the beginner level, Tamarack genuinely shines: long, rolling blue cruisers spill from every lift, delivering some of the finest groomed runs in the region with sweeping views of Lake Cascade below. Advanced and expert skiers will find bowls in both the northern and southern sections of the mountain, tree skiing off nearly every groomed trail, moguls, and off-piste terrain for those carrying avalanche gear. Three terrain parks and a halfpipe serve freestyle riders, and over 30 kilometres of Nordic trails add cross-country options. Being a two-hour drive from Boise keeps Tamarack refreshingly uncrowded, even on a powder day.
Exceptional Craftsmanship, Made in the USA
All Mountaincut wooden trail maps are precision laser cut and etched, hand-stained, and finished in the United States using birch and/or walnut plywood. The two-layer construction creates a rich, dimensional look where the mountain's ridgelines, glades, and trail network stand out in beautiful relief. Hanging hardware comes preinstalled, so your new trail map will be on display in minutes.
Because each piece is crafted from real wood, no two maps are exactly alike, with natural variations in the grain and stain giving every piece its own character, just like a quiet powder morning above Lake Cascade.
The Perfect Gift for Tamarack Devotees
Whether you've cruised the long blue runs with the lake spread out below, explored the bowls and glades on a deep day, learned to ski at Discovery, boated on Lake Cascade after a morning on the slopes, or have been making the drive up from Boise season after season, this map is a lasting reminder of the resort where mountains meet water in a way no other American ski area can match. Tamarack Resort deserves a place on your wall. Mountaincut products are made to order and most items ship within 2 to 3 days. Larger sizes (30" and above) may take 5 to 8 days before shipping.
